Westport Yachts has been North America’s most prolific superyacht builder since it began building boats in 1969. Its facilities in Westport and Port Angeles, Washington, include enclosed spaces of 170.000 and 100.00 sq. feet, respectively, with a separate 80.000-sq. ft cabinet shop and 4.100 sq. ft upholstery shop. Westport has launched more than 140 yachts.
Brothers Rick and Randy Rust began Westport Yachts by building commercial salmon-fishing boats in the North Pacific. The changing economy however soon encouraged Westport Yachts to diversify and move into building luxury yachts.
Westport Yachts was one of the first companies to use labor and cost-saving innovations in terms of modular construction. Allowing the boat to be built with fewer seams and in a quicker turnaround, also meant that this method allowed multiple yachts to be in production at separate locations.
Westport Yachts is currently one of the largest producers of 95’ to 130’ fiberglass yachts. Having built over two hundred commercial boats, between 1984 and 1997 Westport Yachts went on to build many hulls for some of the yachting industry’s most respected yards. Their reliability in producing good quality parts and materials allowed Westport to become one of the world’s leaders among mega yacht brands.
Our original focus on ocean-going craft for the North Pacific commercial fishing fleet has become a cornerstone of our dedication to quality design and construction and is reflected in the steadfast seaworthiness of each motor yacht we have built.
Today, Westport builds composite motor yachts, each one an eloquent statement of elegant style, stellar performance, and unsurpassed comfort … and each one efficiently crafted to world-class yacht construction standards.
